Not only is it one of the smallest waterproof marine VHF transceivers, in the world but, it has a wide range of features that includes increased functionality and excellent ergonomic design.
The IC-M71 is submersible and waterproof to 1.5m for at least 30 minutes. It includes a waterproof microphone/accessory socket, which with the addition of a mike the radio can be used whilst strapped safely to a belt or stowed in a pocket, leaving crewmans hands free to deal with other activities.
Supplied with a powerful hi-capacity 2000mah Lithium Ion battery, the IC-M71's 6 watts offers increased range over all other handhelds. Charging is easy; with Lithium Ion, there’s no need to fully discharge before recharging, as should be done with Ni-Cad's.
The standard BC-166 charger indicates when your battery has been charged. After approximately 10 hours when the battery has been charged the light will change from Orange to Green. After approximately. 13 hours the charger will automatically switch itself off.
The Icom m-71 has a high resolution LCD screen which ensures bright, easily read characters. The LCD’s contrast and backlight are adjustable in 2-levels.
A self-standing battery charger comes with the radio. This means you can set the charger on top of a table, or mount it to a wall.

Icom M411 Fixed DSC Waterproof VHF
The Icom M411 is a competitively priced fixed VHF that is compact in size, easy to use and has excellent receiver sensitivity and speaker audio. The IC-M411 features an AquaQuake draining function that emits a buzzing sound which sheds water from the speaker system, assuring you sharp, clear communications even in the worst conditions.
The IC-M411 has excellent receiver performance. The efficient speaker also reproduces a low frequency audio composition for clear and crisp audio.
The M411 has a built-in Ch 70 (DSC channel) receiver, which monitors activity, even while you are receiving another channel. When in an emergency situation, an automated distress call can be sent with a touch of a button.
DSC uses a unique ID (MMSI code), so you can make contact with the intended ID station or group directly, or with all ships in the area. A total of 100 address IDs can be programmed with 10-character address name and up to 20 received DSC messages are stored.
When connected to an external GPS receiver, the position request function allows you to exchange the ships position information. The polling (request/reply) function checks whether a specific ship is in the communication range.
The IC-M411 and microphone, withstands submersion in up to 1m depth of water for 30 minutes -equivalent to IPX7 waterproofing. This VHF radio is feature packed!

ICOM M601 Fixed DSC Waterproof VHF
Ideal for all leisure boat users, the IC-M601 boasts excellent performance, user-friendly operation, and multiple functions making it probably the finest combined marine VHF/DSC on the market.
The IC-M601 meets ITU Class D DSC requirements. An independent Ch.70 receiver is built-in for continuous DSC watch, and only one antenna is required for Ch.70 and VHF operations.
It has the option of adding 2nd or 3rd station mike's around the boat which offer full control of the unit and an intercom function.
With slim dimensions and a sizeable LCD, the additional mike offers the ease and convenience of operating the radio from remote locations such as the cockpit or fly bridge up to a maximum distance of 21m .
It can be connected to a hailer horn, which makes communication with other boats and deck or dock hands easy. The built-in amplifier increases talk power to 22W making your message loud and clear. Four fog horn patterns are available for the automatic fog horn, adding further to the safety of the vessel.
The IC-M601 has a standard 4" tall front panel, to blend into your cabin console or dashboard. This generous front panel provides large function switches and a wide LCD with the largest channel numbers available in any marine VHF.
